Cisco TelePresence

Interoperability Database

Warning - In preview mode

We endeavor to make our Cisco TelePresence products interoperable with all relevant standards-based equipment. Although it is not possible to test all scenarios, the testing on which this data is based covers most common functions of the listed endpoints and infrastructure.

The following pages describe the software releases that were tested for interoperability with Cisco TelePresence products. The results are grouped by product range. It is not possible to guarantee that all the models listed in the Product(s) column have been tested with the specified software release, although to the best of our knowledge we believe that all such models are interoperable with the associated software release. The absence of a device or release does not imply a lack of interoperability.

Interoperability testing often requires interworking from one signaling/call control protocol to another. The following table lists phrases that are used to briefly describe the call paths that were tested for each interoperability scenario. The explicit call paths in the table place the endpoint first and the Cisco Meeting Server last as a general convention. References to CE software means Cisco Collaboration Endpoint Software and references to TC software means Cisco TelePresence Software.

Spark registered endpoints (both hardware and software endpoints) support making and receiving SIP video calls (i.e. audio, video and BFCP content sharing) via the Spark cloud. Therefore Spark registered endpoints support connecting to Cisco Meeting Server today as a SIP endpoint. Spark endpoints are intended to be used with Spark conferencing and hence the user experience will be different between a Spark conference and one hosted on a Cisco Meeting Server and additional conference functionality such as ActiveControl (the ability to see roster lists, change local layouts etc from the touch panel) and white boarding are not currently supported between Spark endpoints and Cisco Meeting Server.

Use latest version of the Meeting Server with Spark. Available on mobile (IOS or android), desktop (Mac or Windows) and a Web version which works on any browser. Refer to https://www.ciscospark.com/downloads.html for system requirements.

The Meeting Server supports audio, Instant Messaging and presence from/to Skype users. Note that Skype integration happens through Lync and if you are able to connect between Skype and Lync, and Lync to the Meeting Server, then Skype to the Meeting Server should work. Therefore, ensure that you have Skype integrated with Lync infrastructure for calls from Skype to go to the Meeting Server through the Lync Edge server.

Skype for Business on iOS 6.12.0.219 and later

Currently audio and video calls are supported with the following known issues for iOS versions 10.2.1 (and later):

  1. Chat messages are not sent to Mobile Skype for business client from Cisco Meeting Server.
  2. Multiple entries appear for the same audio/video/chat interaction in the Skype for business client on mobiles. For example, a single chat exchange during a audio/video call will appear as two entries in the history.
  3. Content not received by Mobile Skype for business client from Cisco Meeting Server.  This is consistent with current Microsoft limitations for content between Mobile Skype for business client and Desktop Skype for business client.

Cisco will endeavor to provide best efforts to address any interop issues found in basic audio and video exchange where possible within the limitations of the Cisco Meeting Server. However, customers are advised to conduct tests in their own environment.
